Buckle up, Swifties: Taylor has even more music coming out. Just one day after the release of her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” the pop star announced she has re-recorded acoustic versions of eight of the record’s songs.

“File this under ‘save your best for the finale,'” Swift wrote on social media. “I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few of the ‘Showgirl’ songs with brand new vocals and production! Cannot WAIT for you to hear.”

Swift noted the songs include: “Life Is A Song Acoustic Version with “Opalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version)” and “Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version),” “Dressing Room Rehearsal Version with “Wi$h Li$t (Settled Down Acoustic Version)” and “The Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version),” “Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version with “The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version)” and “Eldest Daughter (Now You’re Home Acoustic Version),” and “So Glamorous Cabaret Version with “Elizabeth Taylor (So Glamorous Cabaret Version)” and Elizabeth Taylor (Original Songwriting Voice Memo).”

The four limited release CDs will be available on Swift’s website for the next 24 hours and/or while supplies last.

Rapper and studio executive 50 Cent took to social media to celebrate being the only famous name Taylor Swift dropped on her “Life of a Showgirl” album.

“@taylorswift sh-t is popping right now, she shout me out, she don’t shout you out,” 50 Cent said in an Instagram post on Friday. “LOL 😆 THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY! @50centaction wait I’m the only shout out on the whole album.”

His name comes up on Swift’s sixth track “Ruin the Friendship.”

The lyrics are as follows: “And it was not an invitation / But as the 50 Cеnt song played (Song played) / Should’ve kissed you anyway (Anyway) / And it was not (And it was not) convenient (Convenient), no / Would’ve been the best mistake / Should’ve kissed you anyway, hey-ey.”

“Life of a Showgirl,” Swift’s 12th studio album dropped on Friday.

During a sit-down with BBC Radio 1 on Friday, Swift said the album has some “teeth to it,” mentioning that it’s the one project she’s released that spotlights her life as it was when she penned it.

“I have such uncomplicated feelings of joy about it,” Swift explained. “I do not feel any twisted, tortured way about it, which is not how I felt about the last album, because there was such a lag time between when you make music and then you put it out, there’s often times your life can make drastic changes in those times. With this album, my life is in exactly the same spot as when I wrote the record.”

Channing Tatum recalled the awkward time he had when he dropped his drawers for that infamous, and rather revealing, “The Lost City” leech scene with co-star Sandra Bullock.

The discussion happened during the actor’s appearance on Thursday’s “Hot Ones,” where host Sean Evans asked him if the rumor was true that he had to do 50 takes of the scene because he couldn’t help but laugh at the line: “They’re sucking on my butt like a Jamba Juice.”

Before answering, he let out a little giggle and then admitted, “Yeah,” it’s kind of true.”

“It wasn’t 50 takes, but it was a lot — more than it needed to be,” Tatum continued as he explained the entire backstory.

“It was the second day of filming,” Tatum said, before removing his jacket to prep for the heat of the wing and the backstory. He shared that it’s more or less an awkward situation when you have to show your private parts to a room full of strangers — in his case, the cast and crew. He noted that luckily he was more familiar with Bullock since their children go to the same school.

“You have to walk on to set and you have to be like, ‘Hello, everyone. My name’s Chan,'” Tatum said. “I know we’ve only had really one more day to get to know each other, so you’re going to see my d—k today. We’re going to get to know each other very well. This is my d—k. My name’s Chan. I’ll get to know your names later.”

He added that the “weirder” part of the situation was Bullock having to go into an entire monologue rather than having her pick leeches from his butt.

“It’s like a fever dream to even explain any of this,” Tatum shared.

Bullock has discussed the scene before, previously telling “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert that Tatum was “stupid naked” in the film.

“There is a full cheek … but I don’t believe we showed the full left cheek,” she said at the time, explaining that none of it was CGI.

“I had to spend some time down there,” Bullock said. “In all honesty if you’re down there and you have two pages of dialogue, if you’re looking directly at it, you’ll get nothing done.”

Watch Bullock’s remarks below.

Elon Musk Launches Netflix Cancellation Crusade Over Kids’ Shows With Trans Characters: ‘This Is Not OK’ https://www.thewrap.com/elon-musk-cancel-netflix-trans-characters/ Thu, 02 Oct 2025 18:04:36 +0000 https://www.thewrap.com/?p=7856581 The social media attacks stem from a right-wing watchdog’s X post about former streaming series, "Dead End: Paranormal Park"

The post Elon Musk Launches Netflix Cancellation Crusade Over Kids’ Shows With Trans Characters: ‘This Is Not OK’ appeared first on TheWrap.

]]>
Elon Musk has aimed his social-media cannons at Netflix, firing at the streaming service and urging his 224 million X followers to cancel their subscriptions over some of its LGBTQ-tailored shows.

Musk suggested on Wednesday that his followers should “cancel Netflix for the health of your kids,” while reposting a meme that claimed Netflix served as a Trojan horse to push a “transgender woke agenda” on children. The message, and others like it this week, came after Musk quoted a Libs of TikTok post that chided the platform for its animated series “Dead End: Paranormal Park,” which featured a gay and transgender protagonist.

“’Dead End Paranormal Park,’ a show on Netflix, is pushing pro-transgender on CHILDREN. This show is advertised for 7-YEAR-OLDS,” the Libs of TikTok account posted on Monday. “This is not ok,” Musk replied on Tuesday.

“Dead End: Paranormal Park” aired its two seasons in 2022 before Netflix canceled the show in 2023 (and no longer promotes the series).

Since that initial post, however, Musk has railed against Netflix shows and amplified followers of his who’ve canceled their subscriptions. He also supported a user’s claim that Netflix was “actively pushing” transgender propaganda and wrote “true” over a post that listed shows that feature trans characters.

The crusade continued throughout the week as Musk reposted or commented on other conservatives’ posts against the service, including actor Rob Schneider and frequent poster Ian Miles Cheong’s attacks.

Netflix did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment. The show’s creator, Hamish Steele, wrote on Bluesky earlier this week that he had been “mostly been very ok today and found it all quite funny,” while really appreciating everyone who has reached out.

“But the extremely nasty weird homophobic and antisemitic emails have started rolling in and it is getting a little scary so I apologize if I take longer to respond to stuff,” he shared, later adding that the day had gotten worse and he would be taking a social media break.

Dhar Mann Studios Boss Says YouTube Channel Far Outpaces Linear Television With 45 Million Streams a Day https://www.thewrap.com/dhar-mann-studios-viewership-outpaces-linear-television/ Thu, 02 Oct 2025 17:43:03 +0000 https://www.thewrap.com/?p=7855973 TheGrill 2025: The digital studios’ CEO Sean Atkins and head of production Toni Gray reveal the playbook for how they take content from script to screen in just 30 days

The post Dhar Mann Studios Boss Says YouTube Channel Far Outpaces Linear Television With 45 Million Streams a Day appeared first on TheWrap.

When it comes to traditional television production, Sean Atkins thinks there’s no contest when compared to his Dhar Mann Studios. Speaking at TheWrap’s annual business conference TheGrill on Tuesday, the CEO shared that views on the eponymous YouTube channel founded by Dhar Mann and their Facebook page far outpaces linear TV with an average 45 million a day.

With a 125,000 square foot production space producing five hours of scripted content weekly, Mann and his team operate at an incredibly high frequency. His studio employs over 200 people and feeds an audience of 140 million fans across YouTube, Facebook and other platforms.

“If I wanted to play against Nielsen. I’ll take all the views – just do U.S., just do primetime, just do 18 to 49,” Atkins told moderator and CAA agent Brent Weinstein, comparing Mann’s channel to traditional ratings categories. “He would be the largest scripted television show on U.S. linear television every single night, just to give you a sense.”

“Any day of the week his streams would have outperformed the finale of ‘Game of Thrones’ by three times,” he added.

Mann himself had to leave TheWrap’s conference at the DGA Theater Complex in Hollywood early due to an unexpected conflict, but his studio’s head of production Toni Gray joined Atkins to give the audience a peek behind the curtain into how their operation works. The studio operates on a 30-day production schedule from ideation to publication. They have eight crews shooting simultaneously with plans to gear up to nine by the end of the year.

Gray came from the traditional entertainment world and said that making the transition to digital was tough at first, but producing impactful work Mann is known for has made it all worth it.

“Hollywood frowned upon jumping into this world, and I have to tell you that it is a totally different life,” she said. “It is an incredible culture. It’s collaborative. We basically tell stories at the water cooler. We can ideate and deliver in 30 days.”

The company has mastered the efficiency of space and time in order to ensure consistent output and quality. They developed a tailored software system that breaks down scripts and lets every department know what is needed for each production the following day.

“If you’re sitting in wardrobe, you get a checklist that says, of these nine productions going on today, the following outfits for this actor or actress need to be in this location at this period of time,” Atkins explained. “There’s no people involved. It’s literally just software that delivers that.”

“You get this unbelievable efficiency, where they will produce a TV episode for approximately 1/100th the cost of a linear average episode,” he said.

Dhar Mann Studios also organizes their productions in such a way so that every studio has the basic setup for any kind of location – be that a school, retail establishment or workplace – to cut time for setup and strike for production crews.

“It’s always about using data to analyze the efficiency, to make sure that we can kind of keep that cost efficiency down,” Atkins said.

Data from National Research Group shared on a lunchtime panel earlier at TheGrill on Tuesday revealed that Gen Alpha (individuals born after 2010) are increasingly interested in going to the movie theaters. Weinstein asked Mann’s team if they had any plans for a theatrical release in the future.

Though Atkins and Gray kept mum about plans for a theatrical push, the CEO said the next step for the company is to lean into in-person experiences with a national tour that allows the “Dhar Mann Fam” to act in their own digital short.

Gavin Newsom is fighting fire with fire in a new AI-generated meme war against Donald Trump.

The California governor posted a new AI video Wednesday following two days in a row of Trump posting his own videos targeting Jakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. Newsom’s video mocked Vice President JD Vance and his “beloved couch.”

“Hello and welcome to my show, ‘A History of Couches,'” a deepfake version of Vance said. “I’m your host, JD Vance, and we’ve got a special episode for you today. Some artifacts shape nations, others shape desires, few shape both. The Chesterfield Couch is one of them. Commissioned by Lord Philip Stanhope, the fourth Earl of Chesterfield, this sofa was designed for posture, elegance, and control. Deep button tufting, rolled arms, a back and sides of equal height.’”

Newsom’s office captioned the video, “POOR JD! HIS SWEET BELOVED COUCH NOW COSTS MORE WITH THE TARIFFS!”

On Monday, Trump posted a video to his Truth Social account of a deepfake Jeffries in a sombrero standing beside Senate Minority Leader Schumer as he said, “If we give all these illegal aliens health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us.”

Jeffries stood alongside House Democrats outside the Capitol on Tuesday, hours before the government shutdown, and condemned the footage.

“Mr. President, the next time you have something to say about me, don’t cop out through a racist and fake AI video,” Jeffries said. “When I’m back in the Oval Office, say it to my face.”

The stars were out at the premiere of IShowSpeed’s new YouTube series “Speed Goes Pro” in Los Angeles on Tuesday, complete with appearances from superstars Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian, as well as a special message from Tom Brady.

The six-episode digital series from OBB Media and DICK’S Sporting Goods follows Speed as he attempts to go pro in five different sports. The premiere screening event at the L.A. Coliseum featured his episodes on football and gymnastics — and while his Gold Medalist mentors Nastia Liukin and Suni Lee were present to offer further support, the GOAT quarterback sent his protégé a sweet video message to kick things off.

“Sorry I couldn’t be there in-person tonight. I had to send a little bit of love before this audience does and the world gets to see our episode. I’ll be real, when I first saw you out there, I figured you’d completely fall flat on your face. Yeah, you had a few plays where you actually did, but I’ll give you credit, because you stuck with it,” the 7-time Super Bowl champ said. “You’ve got a lot of raw athleticism, and even while getting burned, you made some plays that surprised me and you kept competing — that effort, that fight, that energy, that’s what I respect the most.”

“Still, I’ve seen better footwork in a 7th grade gym class,” Brady then joked. “We’ll see if the crowd and the world think you’re ready to go pro. But if trash-talking was its own sport, you’d be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.”

Tuesday’s premiere also marked the end of Speed’s massive 35-day livestream marathon. “A lot of work has been put into this show, like seriously. I wanna thank the athletes who competed,” he told the crowd. “It was fun. I don’t wanna yap a lot, but I just really hope that y’all enjoy the show and like the series.”

Others in attendance were OBB Media CEO/founder Michael D. Ratner, Jeremiah Brown, DDG and docuseries participants Fred Richard, Ian Gunther and Randy Orton. The red carpet event also featured passed apps, an open bar, game station activations and commemorative T-shirts on the way out.

New episodes of “Speed Goes Pro” drop every other Wednesday starting Oct. 15.

‘SNL’ Season 51 Teaser Shows How Host Bad Bunny Is a Bit ‘Too Comfortable’ With the Cast | Video https://www.thewrap.com/saturday-night-live-teaser-bad-bunny-host-season-51/ Wed, 01 Oct 2025 17:21:50 +0000 https://www.thewrap.com/?p=7855404 This will be the rapper and singer's second time hosting the sketch comedy series

]]>
The “Saturday Night Live” Season 51 teaser for the sketch comedy show’s upcoming host Bad Bunny shows the rapper-singer getting a bit too comfortable on set with the cast.

“It’s so cool that Bad Bunny’s back; I feel like he’s been here a lot recently,” Sarah Sherman asks fellow “SNL” cast member Marcello Hernández “You think he’s getting too comfortable with us?”

“Yeah, for sure,” Hernández agrees. “I just can’t tell if he’s too comfortable.”

That’s when the clip goes into a series of flashbacks of all the moments the musician may have overstayed his welcome.

“Hey Jane! It’s OK that I’m using your toothbrush, right?

“What?” cast member Jane Wickline responds in a puzzled state.

“I’ll give it back to you — thank you!” Bad Bunny responds.

The next incident involved “SNL” star Ben Marshall, who Bad Bunny greeted in a not-so-polite way.

“What’s up, slut?” Bad Bunny said to Marshall.

“You say slut?” Marshall responded.

“I love the way we joke,” Bad Bunny replied with a smile.

“You don’t know me that well,” Marshall responded with a hesitant laugh.

Between asking newbie Veronika Slowikowska if his friend and company can stay at her home for a week and enlisting Wickline to see if he has strep throat, Bad Bunny surely pushed the boundaries on set. But by the end of Hernández was certain the artist was in good company.

“Nah, I bet you he’s fine,” Hernández insisted just before Bad Bunny was seen dragging Marshall through the set while give him a nuggie.

“Saturday Night Live” returns on Saturday, Oct. 4, with Bad Bunny, who’s set to headline the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show, hosting the show’s premiere. This marks the singer’s second time guest hosting the comedy series. His first time hosting was during Season 49.

Eric Stonestreet poked fun at the “Modern Family” fans clamoring for a series reunion through a social media post from some of his co-stars.

After Stonestreet’s fellow “Modern Family” co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Ed O’Neil posted a picture to Instagram together with the caption “The Pritchetts Sept 27 2025” the actor could not help but leave a comment.

“Where is Sofia? Where is Ty? Did he die again!?” Stonestreet wrote. “Where is Arial? Sarah! Rico!? Nolan!?! Aubrey?! Is there drama behind the scenes? Are you all fighting!? Do you hate each other now? Wait. Where am I!? Why am I not there!? Did I snub you!? Did you snub me!? There MUST be SOMETHING going on!”

Stonestreet played Cameron Tucker on the show – who was married to Ferguson’s character Mitchell Pritchett. The two starred in the series alongside just about everyone Stonestreet mentioned in his Instagram comment.

The joke was born from a long desire of fans wanting a reunion to the long-running ABC comedy. Some of that fervor came from rumors sparked last year by Ferguson after he posted a photo from what was a recreated set from the show. It ended up being for a commercial but it made people ready for the real deal.

“That was on the set, and yes, we’re doing a sequel,” Ferguson joked on The Talk after it happened. “I’m just kidding. I know, it’s something I can’t really talk about, isn’t that annoying? I know. I was on the set with some of my castmates. It’s not a reboot … is it a movie? I don’t know.”

Reunions and revivals have become quite a norm in the last few years. Most recently, ABC announced that “Scrubs” was coming back for a reboot in 2026. Most of the OGs are set to return, including Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley.

“The gang is back together for the first ‘Scrubs’ table read,” the network posted on Instagram. “Here we go!”

MrBeast Addresses Fan Concern Over Fire Stunt in Video: ‘We Take Safety Extremely Seriously’ https://www.thewrap.com/mrbeast-addresses-safety-concerns-fire-viral-video/ Tue, 30 Sep 2025 03:48:40 +0000 https://www.thewrap.com/?p=7854207 "We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man," the YouTube creator assures worried fans

The post MrBeast Addresses Fan Concern Over Fire Stunt in Video: ‘We Take Safety Extremely Seriously’ appeared first on TheWrap.

]]>
MrBeast was forced to put out literal and figurative fires over the weekend after one fiery stunt in a YouTube video sparked concern from fans online.

The content creator, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, uploaded his latest video on Saturday, which was titled, “Would You Risk Dying For $500,000?,” and saw one contestant face a number of blazing “death traps” in an attempt to nab a cash prize.

The footage opened up with Donaldson asking the contestant, a stuntman named Eric, if he’d be willing to “risk burning alive” in the quest to earn half a million dollars.

After the contestant agreed to the challenge, he escaped being tied to a chair while a room burned down. The video also boasted several other stunts, including shooting someone out of a canon into fire.

It didn’t take long for the video to spread like wildfire, with many voicing their safety concerns for the contestant.

In response to the growing criticism, MrBeast issued statements on both YouTube and X. Specifically, in a pinned comment on the video — which has over 50 million views at the time of writing — the social media star promised fans that “we take safety extremely seriously.”

“Every challenge was tested by multiple stuntmen, we have a full rescue team on standby with firefighters, EMTs and divers equipped with an ambulance and fire truck,” he continued. “We also had a pyro team controlling the fires and multiple fire suppression methods on every challenge to ensure we could essentially turn off the fire if there was ever an issue.”

Donaldson went on to praise the production’s stunt coordinator and noted that they didn’t need to utilize any of the aforementioned safety systems.

He expressed a similar sentiment on X on Sunday, where he shared his surprise at how the video “blew up,” especially regarding the safety concerns.

“If you’re curious obviously we had ventilation for the smoke and a kill switch to cut off the fires,” he added. “We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.”

The video has prompted mixed responses from fans, with some applauding the stunt man’s skill and others comparing the challenge to Netflix’s “Squid Game” — which MrBeast (sort of) brought to life in a 2021 video.

For the record, Eric emerged from the stunts seemingly unscathed and with $350,000 in prize money.
